Open House

Maison had his open house tonight at his new school, Hillside Christian School. We are so proud of him! He has changed so much in just a few short weeks! The first day of school was rough! While eating his afternoon snack, he fell asleep and his head hit the table! He says, "seriously mom, you need to tell my teacher not to give me so much work!"

His school has 2 buildings. One for the older kids (5th-8th grade) and one for the younger kids (K-4th). Maison has 11 kids in his room. When the kindergartners leave at noon, they only have 5 kids left in their room! In the mornings Maison's teacher Mrs. Ruess is assisted by another teacher until noon. Then on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, they have a lady come in that works with reading only! The ratio is awesome and Maison gets all of the 1-on-1 attention he needs!

He is much more independent, excited about school, and loves teaching Libby and I all of the neat things he is learning at school! His confidence is rising and he actually likes trying new things. Maison's main goals for the year are: increase confidence, learn to read, and learn to be a little boy! His school isn't just concerned about academics, they are invested in the whole child. They want to create well rounded children.
